Ana Topasna Doctoral Candidate

My name is Ana Topasna, I’m a second-year PhD student in the Human Genetics program at Hopkins. I got my B.S. in Neuroscience from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. I joined the Sharma lab at the start of 2024 working on deep intronic splicing variants of cystic fibrosis. My thesis centers on understanding and treating these deep intronic variants and understanding how dysregulation in various proteins affects CFTR. Outside the lab I enjoy bouldering, hiking with friends and hanging out with my cat Earl Grey.
